About me
I’m Emma—a qualified and registered pluralistic counsellor and psychotherapist. Prior to my training as a counsellor, I spent many years working alongside individuals, young people and families. My background in counselling, social work and advocacy has given me a deep understanding of the challenges people face at different stages in life. I bring warmth, empathy and a collaborative approach to my practice, supporting clients in exploring their experiences and finding ways forward.
My pluralistic approach means that I recognise each person is unique – there is no one-size-fits-all way to heal or grow. I will work collaboratively with you to find what feels most helpful for your individual journey.
My training enables me to draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, always adapting our work to suit you and your own individual needs. My training includes:
Person Centred Therapy - placing your voice and experience at the centre of the work
Psychodynamic Therapy – exploring how the past experiences and early relationships can shape current feelings and behaviours
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – identifying and working with negative thought patterns and behaviour
