Supporting you with what you need, in the way that you need it.
How I work
Whether you are experiencing anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties, or other life challenges, I offer a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space where you can talk openly and be heard.
I’ll always recognise you as the expert on your own life. My role is to bring steadiness, curiosity and helpful tools as you make sense of your experiences. Together we can explore what matters most to you, and reflect and consider the change you may want for your future.
My training includes:
Person Centred Therapy - placing your voice and experience at the centre of the work.
Psychodynamic Therapy - exploring how past experiences and early relationships can shape current feelings and behaviours.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - identifying and working with negative thought patterns and behaviour.
About me
Hello, I’m Emma - a qualified and registered pluralistic counsellor and psychotherapist. I have many years of experience working alongside individuals, young people and families.
My background in counselling, social work and advocacy has given me a deep understanding of the challenges people face at different stages in life.
The Therapy Room
At the Therapy Room, I aim to offer a warm, friendly and welcoming space where you feel supported as you work towards positive change. I offer a free 20-minute consultation call so we can get to know each other, talk about what you're looking for, and see if I'm the right counsellor for you. It's a relaxed, no-pressure chat to help us find the best way forward together.
1. Book an appointment today
Get in touch via our contact form, WhatsApp or call on 07301268314 for a free 20 minute no obligation chat to see if I am the right counsellor for you. If you would like to proceed, we can book you in for your first session.
Ready to move forward?
2. Therapy Session
The therapy session will last approximately 50 minutes. In our first session together we can explore what’s brought you to counselling and clarify your goals for therapy moving forward. There’s no pressure to share everything at once - we’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you.
3. Feedback And Next Steps
We will discuss a plan going forward and you will be given an opportunity to decide whether this fits well for you. You will have the option to book further sessions, but there is no requirement to book a fixed number of sessions. My aim is to help you get to where you want to be in the time that’s right for you.

In our first session, I’ll take time to get to know you and understand what has brought you to counselling.
I may ask about your goals or hopes for therapy, as well as what’s been helpful or unhelpful in the past.
Together we will explore different ways of working and decide which approach feels right for you.
Throughout our work, I will check in regularly to ensure the sessions continue to meet your needs and we can adjust as we go.
This flexible, collaborative way of working ensures that our time together is always centred on you.

The number of therapy sessions varies from person to person. Some clients are short-term (around 6 sessions), whereas others prefer longer to explore what's bringing them to counselling.
Regular reviews are held to ensure the therapy continues to work for you and your needs.
